What is Kapatiran?
Kapatiran is a voluntary organization established in 1988 by the Tokyo Diocese of the Episcopal Church of Japan.
Based on the Christian spirit, people with foreign roots living in Japan
The purpose is to support people so that they can demonstrate the power they need to live a peaceful life.
History so far
1988: Started English services for Filipino women at Japanese Episcopal Church Tachikawa St. Patrick's Church
1991 1st Philippines Study Tour conducted
1994: Started counseling service in Tagalog, “Inochi no Denwa” and home visits.
1995 Stayed in Japan and started Filipino missionary service project in Japan
2nd Philippines Study Tour
2002 Started with a new structure as Kapatiran Steering Committee
2014: Ended counseling business for Filipino women
2015: Started supporting students and young people with roots not only in the Philippines but also in other countries.
Started providing scholarships to university students. Started a dinner party as a place to stay business
2017 Started providing scholarships to high school students
Celebrating 30th anniversary of establishment in 2018
2019 Philippine homestay program implemented with lease and coin subsidy
2020: Launch of Philippine Homestay Program as a new business

Kapatiran means "sisterly love/brotherly love" in Tagalog. This word represents Kapatiran's mission.

１９８８年 日本聖公会立川聖パトリック教会でフィリピン人女性のための英語の礼拝をスタート
１９９１年 第１回フィリピンスタディーツアー実施
１９９４年 タガログ語によるカウンセリング事業、「いのちの電話」、家庭訪問を開始
１９９５年 滞日、在日フィリピン宣教奉仕プロジェクトを開始
第２回フィリピンスタディーツアー実施
２００２年 カパティラン運営委員会として新体制でスタート
２０１４年 フィリピン女性のカウンセリング事業を終了
２０１５年 フィリピンに限らず、外国にルーツを持つ学生や若者たちの支援を開始
大学生への給付型奨学金を開始。居場所事業としてごはん会をスタート
２０１７年 高校生への給付型奨学金を開始
２０１８年 設立３０周年記念礼拝
２０１９年 リースとコイン助成金でフィリピンホームステイプログラムを実施
２０２０年 フィリピンホームステイプログラムを新な事業として開始
